The King of Prussia Youth Sports Foundation 14 year old boys Patriot team won the Suburban Youth League championship
by defeating Doylestown, 60-49. It was the second year in a row that a Foundation team won the 14 year old boys
championship.
The first half was extremely tight as the Patriots led 25-24. At half time, coach Rich Slawter and Pat Shea had to
find a way to stop Doylestown's big man, Reid Menard, who burned the Patriots with 12 inside points. The coaches decide
to double and triple team Menard. The Patriots responded extremely well as they completely shut Menard down in the
third quarter as the Patriots jumped out to a 42-34 lead. The Patriots zone defense effectively stopped Doylestown's
inside game as the Patriots held on to win, 60-49. Doylestown had no answer for Dante Montague who scorched Doylestown
for 23 points. Ryan Shea had another outstanding game, scoring 16 points including 7 points and 5 free throws in the 4th
quarter. Jay Donovan added 8 points while Brett Ross scored 5 points. Eric Slawter, Devante Brown and Maestro Pleasant
all scored for the Patriots. Scott Wilson, Troy Cheely, Kevin Soong, C.J. Cryor all contributed to the winning Patriots!
In the second playoff game, the 11 year old Lady Patriots faced Warrington in a semi-final Suburban Youth league contest.
The Lady Patriots struggled with their shooting throughout the first half as Warrington marched out to a 15-8 half time lead.
The Lady Patriots' aggressive defense kept them in the game but trailed 23-13 at the end of the third quarter. The Lady
Patriots refused to give up and cut the lead to 3 points in the fourth quarter. However, Warrington held on to win the game
25-22 and advanced to the championship game. Tierra Ellis was the leading scorer for the Lady Patriots with 10 points.
Sonali Dhawan, Nikola Hill, Ami Daniels, Nicole Brisken, Reggie Robinson and Kelly Keen all scored for the Lady Patriots.
Also, coach Jack McAleer, benefited from strong performances from Caroline Hullihen and Alexis Romanjulu.

Two of the King of Prussia Youth Sports Foundation's Patriot Basketball teams advance in the Suburban Youth League
Playoffs. The 14 year old boys Patriots advance to the Championship while the 11 year old Lady Patriots won their first
playoff game in 3 years.
In a semi-final game, Coach Rich Slawter's 14 year old Patriots team faced Perk Valley in a rematch of a game won by
the Patriots in the regular season. The Patriots were the winner in a high scoring contest, 71-67. The Patriots jumped
out to a 34-30 half time lead as 6 Patriots scored. In the third quarter, Perk Valley put on a shooting exhibition as they
scored 27 points. They led by a many as 10 points appeared to be pulling away from the Patriots late in the third quarter.
However, Ryan Shea hit a 3 pointer and Maestro Pleasant hit 2 key free throws and the Patriots cut the lead to 4 points, 57-53.
In the fourth quarter, the Patriots took over and proved to be the better team as they won the exciting contest, 71-67. Ryan
Shea had an incredible performance, scoring 30 points! Jay Donovan scored 15 points, Maestro Pleasant hit 11 points and Dante

Saturday, February 9. The day was highlighted by a 61-53 win for the 14-year-old Patriots as they clinched first
place in the Suburban Youth League. The 11-year-old Lady Patriots and 11-year-old Patriots were also winners!
Coach Rich Slawter's Patriot team was hoping to receive a bye in the first round of the playoffs with a win
against Huntington Valley. The Patriots played without two key players, Ryan Shea and Eric Slawter. In the first
half, despite five three-point conversion by Huntington Valley, the Patriots led 28-24. Dante Montague dominated
the first half for the Patriots with 18 points. In the second half, it was Jay Donovan's turn to take over as he

held on to win, 61-53 and secured first place! Dante Montague totaled 25 points, Jay Donavan had 20 points and Maestro
Pleasant added 8 points for the winning Patriots.
The 11 year old Patriots were hoping to keep their Playoff hopes alive as they faced the Penn Jaguars in an A league
contest. The Patriots had their best first quarter of the season due to strong teamwork and balanced scoring as they
jumped out to a 21-10 lead. Danny Kubler scored seven of his 9 points in the first quarter. In the second quarter, the
Patriots held on to a 33-21 lead as six players scored. The Jaguars charged back in the third quarter as they outscored

very strong game with 15 points and unselfish play. David Stecz contributed 6 points, steady ball handling and defense.

final regular season game against Souderton Harleysville on Wednesday day.
The playoff-bound, 11 year old Lady Patriots faced Lenape Valley. Kaley Allen had the hot hand in the first quarter with

defensive contest-21-15. Ami Daniels led the team with 7 points; Kaley Allen had 6 points while Reggie Robinson added 4
points. The Lady Patriots are now 7-5 and have already secured a spot in the upcoming Suburban Youth League playoffs.
The 10-year-old Patriots, coached by Dave Butler, were hoping to obtain their first win of the season as they faced the
3-7 North Penn team. Jerry Mangen was on fire as he scored 9 points in the first half on top of Trevon Morris' 8 points
as the Patriots surprised North Penn with a 23-18 lead. The Patriots continued an impressive day of shooting in the third
quarter as Mangen and Morris continued putting on a strong offensive show as the Patriots led 34-28 lead and the Patriots
looked to be well on their way to their first win! However, North Penn exploded in the fourth quarter, including two key
three pointers by Anthony Cameron, as North Penn scored 16 points to win the game, 44-40. Jerry Mangen finished up with 17
points while Trevon Morris poured in 12 points.

Patriots had points scored by Lauren Kilroy, Anna Davis, Raina Carlos and Carlye Odorisio. The 10-year-old boy Patriots team,
coached by Dave Allen, had a difficult task facing them as they played an 8-2 Zenape Valley team. Strong defense kept the game

Middle School.
Coming into the game, the Patriots were looking for revenge against the 8-1 Doylestown team, who defeated them

stunned the Patriots 63-30. Nelson Blickman and Zach Yonda led the Patriots with 8 points each.
January 30, 2008
The King of Prussia Youth Sports Foundation hosted six games this past Saturday, January 26th at the Upper Merion
Middle School. The first 3 games proved to be extremely challenging for the Patriots and Lady Patriots as their
opponents came in with a combined 22-1 record.
In game one, Coach Dave Allen's 9 year old boy's team faced an undefeated Methacton team, who came into the contest
with an 8-0 record. In the first quarter, the Patriots struggled offensively, as Methacton took a 9-2 lead. The
Patriots scored more points in the second half, but Methacton's tough defense was too much for the Patriots as they led
20-9. Going into the third quarter, the talented Methacton team was well in charge, 29-14 but the Patriots made a
strong run at them in the fourth quarter and outscored them 11-4. However, Methacton held on for the victory, 34-25
and remained undefeated. The 9 year old Patriots are now 3-4. Mack Morgan played excellent defense, had several
blocked shots and led the Patriots in scoring with 7 points. Lucas Yonda and Trey Milby had 5 points each.

only trailed 14-10 in the second quarter. However, led by Mike Crone's 16 points, Whitemarsh took over and won handily,
42-25. The Patriots were led by Trevon Morris with 13 points while Jerry Mangen had 6 points and Brandon Rhodes scored
4 points.
The Lady Patriots had an evenly matched game against Springford. Both teams had even records as the Lady Patriots

aggressive defense and only scored 3 points in the first half as the Lady Patriots jumped out to a 14-3 half time lead.
Although Springford finally got untracked offensively in the second half, they never got closer than 6 points as the
Lady Patriots fought to an impressive 29-19 victory. Coach Jack McAleer's Lady Patriots improved their record to 5-4.

as the Patriots were sluggish at half time. The Patriots came to life in the third quarter and outscored the Jags, 10-2
and led 26-22. Late in the game, the Jaguars actually took the lead 30-29 when David Stecz was fouled and went to the
line 1 on 1. David hit both free throws to put the Patriots in the lead for good, as they won this exciting contest,
35-30. Chris McNeal led the Patriots with 10 points; Zach Yonda added 8 points, while Nelson Blickman and David Stecz
finished with 6 points each.
Coach Rich Slawter's 14 year old boy's team were hoping to win their second game of the day after defeating Warminster
earlier in the day. The Patriots were also looking for their 5th straight win as they faced a 4-4 Springford team.
Spearheaded by Ryan Shea's 6 points, and Dante Montague's 4 points, the Patriots jumped out to a 16-12 first quarter
lead. However, Springford didn't back down and had a strong 2nd quarter, scoring 16 points but trailed the Patriots
30-28. In the second half, the lead see-sawed back and forth but Ryan Shea's and Dante Montague's 4th quarter heroics
helped win the game for the Patriots 53-51. Dante Montague led the Patriots with 14 points and Ryan Shea had 13. Jay
Donovan had 10 points while Maestro Pleasant adds 7 points and Brett Ross contributed 6 points. The Patriots continue
to show strong team chemistry as they improved to an impressive 7-2 record.

Teirra Ellis led the Lady Patriots with six points each.
In the 10 B boys contest, both King of Prussia and Methacton were looking for their first victory. Methacton's

team also was looking for their first victory against a more experienced Methacton team. Alan Kear's team was playing
their second game of the day after traveling to Deep Run in the morning. Although the Lady Patriots continued to show
improvement, they lost to Methacton. The Lady Patriots were led in scoring by Carlye Odorisio and Raina Carlos.

close throughout the contest. Aaron Deen scored all 8 points for Montgomery in the first quarter as the game was tied

back and forth for most of the game and the Patriots appeared to have the game won when Perk Valley's Kyle Charlton
nailed a 3 pointer, tying the game at 46-46 at the end of regulation. In overtime, the Patriots took over the contest,

For the first time in its nine year history in the Suburban Youth League, the King of Prussia Youth Sports Foundation
has 2 teams that won Championships! Both the 10 year old and 14 year old boys teams were victorious this weekend and were
crowned champions of their age divisions. It was the first time in Suburban Youth League History that one coach won two
championships in one season as Paul Kubler (King of Prussia's own Coach K) coached both King of Prussia teams.
In the 14 year old game, King of Prussia faced Lower Merion, a team they had defeated a few weeks earlier, 47-40.
Lower Merion proved to be no match this time for King of Prussia's powerful team. King of Prussia jumped out to a 31-6
halftime league. King of Prussia then coasted to an easy 57-28 win! King of Prussia dominated the boards, played
relentless defense and completely out-shot their opponents! The team benefited from balanced scoring as all 9 players
scored! Tyron Savage led the way with 12 points, Mylo Hill had 10 points, Joe Beck came off the bench with 8 points and
Anthony Robey contributed 7 points. Coach Paul Kubler also received terrific performances from Keishan Persuade, Paul Kubler,
Zach Vousse, Tom Foy, Curran Krayack, and Ben Dwecki. Coach Kubler also received excellent coaching support from his assistant
coaches, Larry Williams and Dave Butler.
In the second game, the 10 year old King of Prussia team was matched up against a strong and taller Huntington Valley team.
In the first half, thanks to Zack Young's strong inside play and a potent defense, King of Prussia took charge, 18-11.
Valley's coach Warren Blatt made some significant adjustments at half time, as Valley surprised King of Prussia with a strong
comeback and actually tied the game, 22-22 at the end of the third quarter. Defense took over in the fourth quarter on both
sides, as the scored was tied at 23-23 with less than 2 minutes left to play. At the one minute mark, Zack Yonda nailed a couple
of free throws and King of Prussia led 27-25. However, Joseph Leventhal from Valley hit a field goal and tied the game once
again, 25-25. Coach Kubler then called a time out with 10 seconds left in the game.
Considering the tough defense that Valley had played all game, it appeared that the game would go into overtime. The inbounds
pass went to Nelson Blickman. Nelson drove to the basket and nailed the shot at the buzzer as King of Prussia won the game and
the championship, 29-27! Zack Yonda led the team with 11 points, Chris McNeal scored 7 points, six points for Nelson Blickman.
Coach Kubler also benefited from strong performances from David Stecz, Danny Kubler, and Henry Miller. Joey Albert, Andrew Lotsis
and Austin Cooper did fine jobs coming off the bench. Coach Kubler also received outstanding coaching support from his 2 assistant
coaches Joe Stecz and Scott McNeal.

The King of Prussia Youth Sports Foundation hosted 2 Suburban Youth League semi-finals this past weekend
and both King of Prussia teams emerged as winners!
On Saturday at Gold's Gym, the 14 year old boys team hosted Southampton in what turned into a high scoring
contest. In the first half, King of Prussia found themselves in an uncomfortable situation, as Southampton scored 7
unanswered points early in the second quarter, and King of Prussia trailed 23-11. However, led by Curran Krayak's 8
points, King of Prussia stormed back and led at halftime 28-27. The lead changed several times in the second quarter
and the game was in doubt until the end. King of Prussia had an opportunity to put the game out of reach in the fourth
quarter as they were continually fouled and were in a bonus situation. However, at one point, they missed 6 out of 7
foul shots. Anthony Robey then took over the game and went on a 15 point surge, the team made some key foul shots in
the last 2 minutes and King of Prussia survived 60-58. Robey led all scorers with 22 points, while Ty Savage had 14
points, Curran Krayak had 10 and Mylo Hill scored 7 points. Coach Paul Kubler also benefited from strong performances
from Zach Vousse, Joe Beck, Paul Kubler and Ben Dwecki. The team will be playing for the B league championship next
weekend.
The 10 year old team, also coached by Paul Kubler, faced a very strong Central Bucks team at Gulph School on Sunday.
The team led most of the way and were leading by 2 points with two minutes to play. Central Bucks started rushing their
shots and King of Prussia took advantage. King of Prussia showed more patience with their shot selection and also
received some key steals from Nelson Blickman and Danny Kubler. Zach Yonda, Nelson Blickman and Chris McNeal all hit
foul shots as King of Prussia won the game, 43-37. Zach Yonda led the team with 15 points while Nelson Glickman
contributed 12 points. David Stecz hit most of his outside shots in scoring 7 points and Henry Miller came off the bench
to add 7 points. The team will play for the Suburban Youth league Championship this weekend.

entered the playoffs with 11-1 records.
In the first game, the 14 year old boys team, coached by Paul Kubler, faced Lower Southampton. In an effort
to shut down Lower Southampton's outside shooting game, coach Kulber went to a 3-2 zone. The zone worked
extremely well as King of Prussia jumped out to a 28-17 lead at halftime. In the second half, Coach Kubler
switched to a man to man defense and totally confused Lower Southampton as King of Prussia outscored their
opponent 15-1 in the third quarter. King of Prussia then coasted to a 57-29 win and will now advance to the
semi-finals. Once again, King of Prussia had a strong team effort and received balanced scoring. Anthony Robey
scored 12 points, Mylo Hill had 11 points, Ty Savage with 9 points and Joe Beck added 8 points.
In the second game, the 10 year old boys team faced a very strong Warminster team who came into the contest with
a 11-4 record. Warminster entered the contest with a 10-4 record and were coming off a playoff win against Audubon.
In previous games, King of Prussia jumped out to sizeable leads in the first quarter as teams struggle against their
relentless press. However, Warminster was the first team this season to handle King of Prussia's press. Warminster
played aggressive defense and sent King of Prussia to the foul line 18 times in the first half.
Although Warminster effectively shut down Zach Yonda's inside scoring, King of Prussia's foul shooting, strong defense and scoring gave
them a comfortable lead at half time, 19-12. In the second half, Warminster outscored King of Prussia 12-5 and the
game was tied 24-24 as King of Prussia found themselves in a barnburner for the first time this season. With the
score tied 29-29 with 9 seconds left, King of Prussia had the ball with an opportunity to win. Nelson Blickman drove
down the court and passed all the defenders but just missed a layup with 2 seconds left. Zach Yonda was then fouled
with 1 second left. Zach missed both free throws and the game was sent into a 3 minute overtime.
In the first overtime, David Stecz nailed a 2 pointer and Nelson Blickman scored twice at the foul line but it wasn't enough as the
game went into a second overtime. King of Prussia finally took charge of the game as Zach Yonda hit 3 free throws,
Nelson Blickman and Chris McNeal both hit field goals, and King of Prussia ended up on the winning side, 41-38. The
enthusiastic crowd was treated to the most exciting contest of the year!
The coaches were extremely proud of the players for this win as the boys played extremely well in the clutch, despite missing some key baskets and free throws
late in regulation. Henry Miller and Zach Yonda led the team with 9 points each. Nelson Blickman had 8 points while
Chris McNeal scored 6 points. David Stecz hit some key baskets down the stretch and scored all of his 7 points in the
second half! King of Prussia will now move on to the semi-finals of the Suburban Youth League playoffs.
